We are Christ-centred

Welcome back to Term Two. As usual it will be a busy term of learning, with a variety of events already planned including: a Noho Marae visit, the Y7/8 and Y4-6 Winter Tournaments, our Cross country, the 40hr Famine and the Senior Ball.

Thanks to the Mufti Day and Cupcake sales last term we raised $504.50 for The Leprosy Mission NZ.

During the holidays Stuart and Joy, our head boy and girl, laid a wreath at the ANZAC Day dawn service at Laurie Hall Park. It was, again, a reflective time remembering the sacrifice of our servicemen and women during wartimes.

This term we will be focusing on the Core Values we expect to see outworked in our students. Our     Christian beliefs set a high standard for relationships and behaviour and we want Excellere College to be a learning environment where we all strive towards those expectations. Whether in class, the playground, the sports field or a cultural setting we expect our students to set the example for others. We do not    expect perfection, however we expect that all our students show a willingness to learn, treat others with respect and be reflective about their own behaviour.

Each week I will be highlighting an aspect of our Special Character statement. This is the foundation that our school is built upon and what all our families agreed to support at enrolment.
