Can you believe that it is the end of Week 7 already!

At the time of writing this it is Thursday evening and I’m feeling a bit worn out after a busy cross country day- and I didn’t even have to run!! Our students did us proud today running their hearts out and legs off and it was wonderful to have so many family members in attendance.

It was a pleasure to host staff and students from Otamatea Christian School, Whangarei Adventist School and a homeschooling group. They enjoyed running the course and it was neat to see our students and the students from the other Christian schools interacting and getting to know each other.  The visiting principals and I agreed that we need to plan for more opportunities in the future for our schools to connect.

Thank you to everyone who made today such a success:

Dwayne Tainui and Ben Keyte for the overall planning of the event, as well as setting the course with the help of Peter Sa’ena-Browne and Richard Smith.

Amanda Annandale and her team for coordinating the junior races.

Nadia van der Merwe for running canteen and Richard Smith for setting up the BBQ and cooking the sausages to perfection.

Our barista team, who made delicious coffees and raised over $100 to go towards the senior ball- thanks to Mrs B for supporting them.

We had a dedicated group of senior students who marshalled and another group who ran the course numerous times leading younger students.

And of course, the runners themselves- from Year 1 to Year 13. They all set the goal to try their very best and completed their races. They should all be very proud of themselves.

I hope you all have a wonderful rest this weekend. Please keep the local family that lost their young son in

a tragic road accident on Kamo Road on Wednesday morning in your prayers.

Look after yourselves and each other- you are precious.

Manaakitia koe– bless you – Nicole
