COVID 19 Situation

Dear Parents/Caregivers

As the Covid-19 situation unfolds globally, and in New Zealand, we are being guided by prayer and official recommendations.

As we have a duty-of-care we are wanting to minimise the opportunities for spread of the virus for all our students. This means that groups will not be attending sporting and cultural events, where we cannot control interactions, until further notice. This will also affect school events, such as our 40th anniversary celebrations. We are currently reviewing all occasions that would be affected by this situation.

If any of our parents return from overseas, and self-isolate for 14 days, we would also expect their children to do the same.

We are also exploring how we might provide learning at home, if students needed to stay home, or we were required to close. Google classroom provides some opportunities in this area.

We do not want to create a panic, however we need to be cautious in our actions and encourage safe practices around hygiene and interactions. If we all take personal responsibility for maintaining our health, taking precautions over interactions, isolating when sick, and caring for each other, we will be modelling the Fruit of the Spirit for others.

We will keep you updated on our on-going response, and ask for your continuing prayers for our Excellere, New Zealand and the global communities.

We must not let fear take hold at this time.

“Peace I leave with you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor
let it be fearful.” John 14: 27
