Jesus’ sacrifice is all…

Today is Poppy Day, and we are had a mufti day to raise funds for our RSA and collected $302.80. We have an area alongside our central path with some crosses, and flags, for students to stop and reflect on the sacrifice of our soldiers during conflict. It has been wonderful to see them doing this. As part of ANZAC remembrance celebrations we are participating in the Dawn Parade on Sunday April 25th, meeting at 5.30am in Hannah St. We will have a group of students from school walking, in uniform, and our Head students will lay a wreath. We invite you to join us as we remember the sacrifice of our soldiers in overseas actions.

Next term we welcome Maria Jackman to our staff. Maria will be teaching in the Year 9 and 10 area.  She will be teaching Year 10 Maths and PE, and a number of Year 9 subjects. Part of her role is releasing Mr Keyte and Mrs Kelly from teaching, so they can have more time for their College leadership responsibilities. Maria also has strengths in Te Reo and Tikanga Maori, and we look forward to her sharing her giftings with our students during 2021.
We thank Mr Smith for teaching in this area this term.

As we begin the holidays I want to thank our community for their support and love during this term.  It has been the usual busy time of learning, with some camps and tramps also happening.

We pray that the time with whanau at home is an opportunity for relationship-building and reflecting on God’s love and Grace. We look forward to seeing you all back next term.
