Do not be afraid to ask for help.

As the winter chill leaves its frosty footprint around Excellere College some mornings we thank the Lord for our wonderful outlook over God’s creation. We are indeed blessed to have such a peaceful  environment surrounding our learning.

Next week we will be involved in a Special Character Review, with Warren Peat (NZCPT) and Graeme Budler (Principal, Kingsway) visiting us. This occurs every three years and provides valuable feedback on the culture of the school. They will be talking with students, staff, parents, BOT, and WCET, as well as visiting classrooms and attending meetings.

A group of six students, and Mrs Smith, will be attending the Equip Student Leaders Conference at Kingsway, Thursday and Friday next week. We wish them a safe journey there and back and a time of refreshment and fellowship with other leaders from Christian schools.

Mid-year Reports come home at the end of next week. We have updated the format of our Junior College Reports  and hope that these provide better information for parents. Our Learning Conferences will be held on Thursday July 27th, 2-8pm. On-line booking for these will be available next week.

Over the holidays a number of property projects will be starting. We will soon have two PE storage  containers available outside the gym, with roller doors and a roof over them. Our carpark is being raised and drainage improved so we do not have flooding issues. We are also working on getting shelter from the weather at our entrance gate, and around our bike stand area. We thank our Board of Trustees, and our Land Trust, WCET, for these improvements.

Sometimes we can allow pride, or the fear of shame, to stop us asking for help. We are told to ask, and we will receive. Be sure that you give Jesus the opportunity to work in your life, and don’t be left  wondering what  could have been, if only you’d asked.

Graeme Whitehead, Principal

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”
