Home Learning Statement

Home learning involves learning that continues beyond the school gate and extends into the home. We believe that this connection is a vital part of our journey as lifelong learners.

The three aspects of home learning we acknowledge are:

  1. The reinforcement and practise of what has been learnt at school;
  2. Opportunity beyond school to continue current learning;
  3. The development of self-management skills.

Our continuum highlights the specific aspects of school-based learning that need further time and support from home. As we move through the school the amount of time that may be required will increase. This is reflected in the expectation that personal time management will improve as children mature.

Home learning should be a partnership between home and school, and we expect a fluid communication system to be arranged and maintained.

A personal diary is useful for this.
