Speak Love and life

Our Year 4-6 students attended the local schools’ Winter Tournament last Wednesday. Although the sunshine was intermittent, they competed in a variety of sports and represented Excellere with integrity and honour.

We held our Year 7-13 Cross Country on Wednesday morning. Cool, overcast weather greeted the students as they navigated the course through our back paddocks. Congratulations to all our participants, and well done to our place-getters.

We held our first assembly for Term Two today. It was great to again see our students leading the event and sharing their giftings with us.

Next week our Middle College is off to Waitangi for a history lesson. As the home of our Treaty, and an area steeped in early Christian history it is always a wonderful visit.

The words we speak are a reflection of our heart, our inner spirit, our true self. If our words contain beauty people will treasure them, but if they cause pain can leave a lasting wound. We must be careful with our words as once spoken they can be forgiven, but not forgotten. Like sticks and stones, words can hurt. Our words have power. They impact others, but they also impact us. Let us all speak love, and life, as we interact with each other.

Blessings
