At our assembly today we were blessed with Kapa haka, sports awards, learning reflections, our choir, and a Term Two photo show. I am no longer surprised by the excellence exhibited by our students in running the assembly, and entertaining us. Children are inherently gifted, they simply need the opportunity to shine.
Next term we start with our Learning Conferences on the first Thursday. This is an opportunity to korero with staff around learning progress half way through the year. Please be sure to make an appointment, on-line, and continue our learning partnership.
Our Student Graduate Profile sets our aspirational goals for all students as they journey through Excellere College. One of them is that they ‘understand that God has a purpose for their lives and are excited about life, with hope for the future’. This is a fundamental aspect of why this school exists. Underpinning any academic success, artistic effort, or sporting prowess is the need for our children to know they are loved by God, and embrace the hope that brings to them. Nothing is more important …
There are a lot of tired people at school this week, looking forward to the holiday break. For us ‘Excellereites’ it is a chance to sleep in, be free from bells and timetables, eat lunch when we want to, and jump in puddles. For parents a chance to spend quality time with children in the daylight. It is a chance to rest, to be still, to be restored. Seek our Lord for your rest, and return refreshed next Term.
Blessings

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”
