The Power of the Spirit

This week we farewelled Kolene Hintz who is off on Maternity leave. Kolene has been a gem as one of our Teacher Aides, and we wish her well for the new baby. We welcome Nat Brown to our Teacher Aide team next week.

The Whangarei Christian Education Trust (WCET) is beginning the process of developing a 20 Year Plan for Excellere College. The initial hui was held this week, and identified the key aspects of the plan. Watch out for an opportunity to have input into this exciting development as the year progresses.

Early next week we will be getting two containers for a temporary Caretaker space. As Arise rebuild their carpark Peter needs to move on-site. Whilst we plan for his permanent home he will be based in the laneway at the end of our carpark. These will be arriving after school on Monday, when the carpark has cleared.

Our Christian concept of power is different from the common world’s view. We do not see strength, force and violence as the answer, rather love, forgiveness and servanthood. Jesus came to serve, with humility, those in need. We have been provided with the same power, through the Holy Spirit, to grow the Kingdom.

Blessings,

Graeme Whitehead

Principal
