We are all lifelong learners

It was great to see our Interhouse volleyball competition earlier this week. This was organised by our House Leaders and will be followed by more events throughout the year.

On Wednesday loud explosions rocked the deck around our prefab block. Fortunately they were controlled, as Mr Rooney conducted a series of experiments for a large crowd of our students. We thank Mr Rooney for his enthusiasm in bringing Science alive.

Next Thursday the school will be closed as we hold a Teacher Only Day. The Ministry of Education is providing professional learning, across NZ, to help our Senior College staff with the upcoming changes in NCEA. The rest of our staff will be preparing for our Local Curriculum Refresh.

We are developing a Christian lens to review all our curriculum, and explore the local aspects of this. We are also developing an Essential Knowledge Kete to identify the foundational knowledge we believe our students should all acquire during their journey with us. During this term we will be seeking your input into this through a digital survey. Stay tuned …

Blessings
