Note to Excellere College community

Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other,  just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”

  Ephesians 4: 32 (NIV)

We now know that we will be in Level 4 lockdown until, at least, this Friday. With confirmation about this week we are expecting our students to be in regular contact with their teachers and continuing with the learning tasks assigned for this season. Please be involved daily in monitoring their progress, and identifying any issues that staff can help with. Our NCEA students will need to manage their time well, attend Zooms when they are available, and keep up-to-date with their studies.

We have been able to distribute some Chromebooks and stationery supplies to families that requested them through their teachers. Our drive-through system worked very well this morning, and we thank parents for their patience (practiced at testing and vaccination drive-throughs I’m sure).

As with last year we encourage you to keep stress levels low through some organised learning times, family time, regular korero, and time with Jesus. This may be reading the Bible, watching on-line Christian teachings, listening to music or podcasts, praying, or korero on current issues or questions about our Christian life. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to explore our Faith in more depth, with our families. Remember that God is Love, and all we do should start at this point and reinforce this understanding.

As we learn more about this Covid lockdown season, and possible changing Alert Levels we will keep you informed about our plans at Excellere College. If we move to Level 3 only children of Essential workers are allowed to attend supervision, at school, and we will look to identify these possible students later this week. In the meantime stay home, stay safe and be kind to all.

Blessings
